True Passions

Leading Worship at St. Mark's Church, Frankford

Philadelphia Eagles Football: they are up and down and up and down!

Philadelphia Phillies Baseball: playing for second place is not good enough!

Gardening: I love it, but it is too much work.

My dog: Kobe, the wonder dog.

Being a parent, husband, and grandfather! It doesn’t get any better than that.

Biography

The Reverend Jonathan N. Clodfelter is a city priest leading a parish church for the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania in a significantly challenging Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood.

Born and raised in the Ozark Mountains, Jon, as her prefers to be called, grew up on a small rocky piece of land learning vegetable and orchard farming the hard way.

Jon enlisted in the US Army as a mature 21 year old seeking new opportunities.  He served a career as an intelligence analyst fighting the Cold War from special compartmented intelligence facilities in Europe and Southwest Asia.  Some highlights include:

Wearing the Green Beret of the US Army Special Forces

Expert marksman was attached to the German Army as a sniper instructor.

Preparing nuclear targeting profiles for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Siberia.

Decorated for competence, service, and heroism by US Defense Department, the US Army, and NATO commanders.

Conversational in German and Italian.

After graduating from the Army, Jon received a call from God to enter the ordained ministry.

Jon is currently working to expand his current ministry to include a Soup Kitchen to offer a hot meal to the local community.
